good 'ol dell...

So for awhile now my laptop's been screwy with AC power... it just thinks it's not plugged in when it really is. So I need a new AC adaptor thingy but I've been too lazy to call dell and get one... until today.

I finally cracked SPSS (I found a serial that *actually* works) but as I installed SPSS the power stuff got annoying (flashing AC/Battery/AC/Battery/AC... etc etc)

So I get this lady who seems nice enough... until she tells me we're gonna need to replace my system board. What? Replace my system board because of a faulty AC adaptor?????? Um.... as much as I'd sometimes love to waste Dell's money on stuff like a replacement system board for no reason, I really didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of waiting around for a dell dispatch dude to come fix my laptop which just needs a new AC Adaptor...

Luckily I was like, "um.. I think I really just need a new AC Adaptor... I could check to make sure by testing it with my roommate's adaptor..." So I stole Carly's adaptor, which worked flawlessly, and the lady agreed to just send me a new AC adaptor. It took entirely too long to accomplish such a small feat though. Ugh. I blame it on me being tired and thus not particularly articulate about my problem - I should've just been like, "I need a new AC adaptor." but instead I was like, "My computer's not working with the AC Adaptor..." Which, if you know anything about tech support people's thought processes, was a bad thing to say...

I was supposed to go to Murray Ridge this morning but Lissah never showed up :-/ Me and Oneida (the other girl in my group) were like, "ummm....?" I tried calling Lissah but just got her machine. Hopefully she's okay. Oneida called the school and told them we weren't coming... I wasted a loooooong time waiting around playing with my Rubix cube. It sucks because we didn't go to Murray Ridge last week b/c of Veteran's day and we won't go next week b/c of Thanksgiving. Blarg.
