Running with the herd

May 11, 2005 15:57

So today, like everyday, I step off the commuter rail train.

Today, like everyday, the herd behind me runs.

Why do they run? Do they like running around while all dressed up?
Is it a sport to them to see how many people they can "run" into or
cut off? So what if you are two minutes late. It is not the end of the
world. Those two minutes will not make a difference. You want to make
a difference, then catch an earlier train. Quit bumping into me.

I will always be the one who refuses to run up the escalator.
The one who walks around absorbed in my game and music.
I will not walk slowly, but I will not run either.
