ely:
one year later and you might as well have my heart in a small box. i have opened every dusty corner i could find to let the love out, i have held women beautiful & well. stones have i cracked open, i dance upon them like a lightning bolt but nothing, boy, nothing clues you out of the edges. i am owned by you & i have run back to every small joy i had found before you, and they are gardens pearled with rain, & you the dark forest beyond. a wilderness opened inside my chest the day i met you & i am still wandering it, half-cocked like a rifle, smiling haphazardly at each dawn.
