my hair was my biggest problem i had in over 6 years of being in this country. i went to this one chick once for a trim, and she babbled in portuguese and i sorta nodded and went out of there with this weird-on-me haircut but it was cheap. i'd go home and redo it.
then one day after feeling like a harridan for 3 years because the dark brown i used turned it black and i felt fake. then one day after hacking it too badly myself, i kinda radar'd in to this salon and there was this cool guy who spoke good english. i could tell he knew what he was doing and he gave me the cut i needed. then i couldn't take the color so i braved having it stripped an recolored yesterday and he also cut it. it's the first time ever i've found a stylist that did what i wanted, and also trusted to do what he thought would work best. he wasn't satisfied with the first color and redid it.. i was there for 3 1/2 hours, walked out feeling like strutting my new stuff.
after having so many disaters in the past, i really related to your experience.
move here.... meet carlos. i told him, you know, you could model, and he said oh i did and later without sounding pompus, because it fit in with the conversation, he talked of a cover he did with naomi campbell. he didn't like the business. he likes making women look good while he studies acting.
