I agree - with all of it, exceot maybe the exit of Evil Gwen. I liked her for an episode then she became as dull and annoying as Mary Sue Gwen just alot pushier. :P Im almost looking forward to the return of the Moral Compass next week... Show - I know youlre going to make me regret saying that.
Your point about Merlin not being sensed by Morgana is a great one but I honestly believe they simply cant be bothered thinking these things out or maintaining any kind of consistency. They've diminished Merlin as Emrys the Saviour of Magic and the greatest sorceror ever, to just one of a trio, any one of whom could win in a battle; in fact Merlin looks the weakest at the moment. The encounter with the Dorchaid (sp?) was the perfect illustration- Emrys is supposed to BE magic isnt he and the subject of legend? Yet to her (even though she supposedly hurls out prophecies herself) he was just another jobbing sorceror she didn't recognise. Its as Eoin said - they make it up as they go along. What they really need, is someone to take notes. But I suppose its a bit too late now :P
What they really needed was a show bible that was updated every week with pertinent facts, and scripts assiduously checked to ensure that nothing established was contradicted without developing a plausible reason. Also some basic respect for visual continuity and viewer intelligence.
The magically changing horses used to amuse me. Until I realised how symptomatic it was of them not giving a shit.
