uncommon sense

so taking the course history of common sense. silly philosophy. He argues something that is very basic, which is very good, but also not nearly preentious enough. but this one sentence about how we smell really annoys me because reid starts talking about a man who has never smelt before who suddenly gets the sensation of semlling a rose. what ( Read more... )

how is he smelling the rose? where is it? i would need to know that before i was able to answer that question.

one of my favorite lines from diderot's definition of an encyclopedia is that he wants to teach the common man about common sense. it's completely nonsensical if you think about it.
