We live in a golden age. I don't know how clear this is to any of us, but it's true. In america this is an age of wealth.. This is an age of american hegimony, the age where the american empire more or less controls the world. This is the golden age of the american empire.. Look around yourself and experience it, and see what a golden age truly is. The golden age does not mean prosperity for all, it does not mean a reduction of suffering, it doesn't even mean employment for many people. What it does mean is relative comfort for a certain class within the population. What it means is that there is a lot of wealth, but not that it is evening distributed. This is what historic 'golden ages' are.. they are eras of domination, not of popular utopia. And the very sad part is that this is probably the best it's ever gotten. This is the most freedom there has ever been and the most equality. What a pittence. And when the golden age collapses and we return to the normal level of industrialized/civilized life, many will look to this age with nostalgic eyes.. this golden age, this age of american domination and oppression.
