Mom bought a new tree today (rightsizing, not downsizing) when we went in Wally-world to buy a new timer for the outside lights. We probably wouldn't have bought one, be we had just come from Hobby Lobby (cheap fabric and supplies, expensive decorations) where they were selling similar trees for $200 on sale, and the Walmart tree was $40. Pre-lighted, folds up like an umbrella (Whoville!!!), assembles in about 15 minutes, including jeujeing all the branches.
Mom has been using a very small tree for a few years because the big tree really was a lot of work for someone who doesn't really entertain for the holidays anymore. But she was always frustrated with it because it really wasn't big enough to hold all her favorite ornaments. So for 40 bucks, this was a good compromise. Perhaps not a bushy as the $200 tree, but honestly, if you are going to put more than a couple hundred ornaments on a tree, too full and bushy restricts you to only putting ornaments on the tips of the branches. We love a tree that glimmers and glows with 4 or 5 layers or ornaments from deep within the tree!
