the best goddamn $8 i've spent all year
last night i saw the video for wolfmother's "woman," and it is probably the best fucking song i have heard all year. big, loud, fast...basically the band is (to put it crudely) a hipster zeppelin rip off band. i love it. skinny dude(s) with an afro stomping around rocking his ass off like nobody's lookin, it is total 70s cock rock in the best sense. "she's a woman, you know what i mean/you better listen, listen to me/she's gonna set you free." it's totally stupid, it makes no sense, it's pretty obviously about fucking, and probably the best chorus of the year. these dudes don't miss a beat.
i bought their cd today at target for 8 bucks and it is totally worth it. it's the kind of record you want to turn up real loud and (when nobody's around) stomp around your apartment and rock out like an idiot. top to bottom the motherfucker is awesome (if you like this sort of thing, which i do).
