Right, so about four weeks or so ago I went to the doctor and the doctor said: "You have a strep infection in your blood." Not in my throat, not anywhere that he could figure out, but in fact just a mass of the strep bacteria in my blood. Ok. Not a problem.
I took anti-boitics for two weeks. Felt fine (one should note that I never felt ill to begin with.) Had to come back to do a check-up/follow-up about a half week after that. They take more of my blood. I'm at work all week from 9-6 (one should note doctors office is only open 9-5.) I work with children. I was told that I was NOT contagious.
Genius dr's office calls me back yesterday, leaves vague message on answering machine. I have to borrow someone's cell at work to call dr this morning and find out why they have called me. Find out that *gasp* strep infection is still there. (Note: they said this as if I were going to die from it any moment.) Thus I was ordered to appear at the drs office TODAY. Before noon.
Now I had to go to my boss tell her that apparently I'm contagious (this is what the dr office told me.) That I had to leave. (TODAY! Today is the day of easter parties and whatnot. I cannot be needing to be at the dr TODAY!!) So I tried to call my ride but that did not work. (I tried several alternate rides but alas they did not work either.) Finally decided to screw the 'call a ride' idea and walked home.
An hour later I arrive, cold, miserable and my feet hurt (am investing new paycheck in new shoes have needed them for several months.) Wake up my ride (who is ill) drag my ass into the dr to sit in the *several curse words* office for THREE DAMN HOURS. Only to be told by the doctor that I WAS NOT CONTAGIOUS and to be prescribed anti-boitics that the GENIUS could have CALLED INTO my pharmacy. *so angry, cannot think.*
I did manage to get back to work in time to get the three year olds hopped up on sugar and listen to them yell the whole afternoon. They were really good despite the fact that they had candy, cupcakes and ice cream.
Erg.
*growl*
Bye now.
