In other news, I've been going mental recently as one of my all-time guitar heroes, Ken Chambers, is back in a band. Certain guitarists have this abilty to hit my musical G-spot every time - Bob Mould, Ken (ex-Moving Targets), Cormac Battle (Kerbdog/Wilt), Torg Hallin of Overwhelming Colorfast and a couple of others. I was lucky enough to see Moving Targets at the Borderline years ago, but when they finally split up Ken's solo work was pretty sappy noodling, and he then went on to play in Bullet Lavolta who I never realluy cared for. Anyway, his new band American Pulverizer (shitty name I know!) is right back to the best Moving Targets stuff. They have three demo tracks available here
I found out on Friday that I definitely have to go and get a Real Job(tm) - the guy who wrote the Noteworthy Composer software I've been selling for the last 10 or so years has decided to dispense with my services when his new version comes out. As this was the only thing I'd really been selling any copies of over the last couple of years, that pretty much kills it. Time to deregister for VAT, go part time on the website design work and find something with a regular income so I can pay the bills. I really wish I had the slightest amount of competence with money - no matter how much I seem to make (and recently that's not been a lot) I always end up in the shit. Guess I'm lucky I have the house so if the worst did happen at least I wouldn't be bankrupt.
