Odds and Ends
Haven't posted in a while...
Mostly finished with the bathroom renovation project, no thanks to Home Depot. Hopefully will finish it up this morning after a trip to the hardware store. It looks good and provides more storage than previously did, so all is good. Will post more about it later.
Went up to the playground behind our house and discovered that the county completely renovated the tennis courts in the park there. Resurfaced, new nets, new fencing and still nearly never encounter anyone playing there. Kind of like having your own private tennis court a few hundred feet up through the woods.
The boys have been excited to play tennis since our discovery, so we've gone up to play a few times. Well, I hit balls to them and they flail at them. While waiting for them to gather balls, I discovered it's rather fun to hit acorns with the tennis racket. Can easily launch them over two courts and over the trees. I just do it to clear the acorns off the courts...really. :-)
Signed DS1 up for cub scouts last week and I volunteered to be tiger den leader. Been waffling on the whole scout thing for a while. As much as I hate a few of the policies of the national organization, I'm an eagle scout and scouting was a big part of my childhood and I'd like to give my kids some of those opportunities, if they are interested. Then a friend of his invited him to an information session and his two best friends were there and now I'll be in charge of the gang. Need to get myself a new uniform...don't fit into the old one any more.
