So this is it, huh folks? This is what we've been reduced to? Now we need to seriously consider having our nation's kindergarten teachers pack heat so something terrible doesn't happen to little children?
If it's gotten to that point already, then we might as well throw in the towel on this whole "society" thing.
Or, alternatively, we could try building ourselves back up again, even if by just a little. Act just a little kinder towards one another, treat each other with a little more respect, a little more courtesy, a little more dignity, understanding and (dare I say it) trust.
But I forget, we can't do that, can we? No, we can't risk trusting anyone because, after all, "they" are out there. "They" want to hurt us. And what's worst of all, we can never tell who "they" are. So we need to keep our guard up, keep our eyes open, most important of all, do unto others before "they" do unto us.
And whatever you do, don't go asking questions like; "What if 'they' are the very ones who want us to be afraid of 'them'?"
