May 2nd 2004 - Greatest Day Of My Life
State Cup Soccer game, down 1-0 (all my fault) with 30 seconds left Mikey inbounds the ball to Willy. Willy dribbles through 5 men and has his shot deflected. Shaggy blasts home a shot as time runs out that beats the keeper as time expires. Two minutes into the first OT Adam sent one into the back of the net. Game over. Florence 2 Hammonton 1
The Concert - 5pm start we opened up I nailed both my solos. Cycle was tiring but I managed to peel out an F at the end. Other songs went fine. Reggie and Carl came out at quarter to 6 and each did a number from their respective CD's. Both of them great musicians, but Carl, my god that man can solo his ass off.
6:15 - Big Bop Nouveau takes the stage and start Blue Birdland. My jaw dropped from the first note that came out of Maynard's horn. The entire band was on all night, every single player. They played, Blue Birdland,One More Trip to Birdland, Aint’ No Sunshine, Girl From Ipanema, Fox Hunt, But Beautiful, MF Medley and Rocky. Just as the Hit Medley started, Maze Cathy and I walked on stage to give Maynard his cake as the band broke into Happy Birthday. Then they started the Hit Medley again and nailed it to the walls. Then as an Encore, we played Rocky with Maynard. The Highpoint of my life, he absolutly nailed every verse, every note of it all.
