Why I Am a Socialist Progressive Hippie Liberal
It's simple.
Because it pisses me off that the right of the rich to buy a fourth mansion or a third yacht is sacred, but people like me -- with chronic, incurable health problems -- are left to twist in the wind because raising taxes to pay for health care is an abomination. That corporations are given trillions to save them from the ship they themselves sank, because without them there would be no jobs for Americans, and then we're told that these same corporations are free to ship those same jobs overseas, because it would be wrong to tell the rich folks who run them how to spend their money.
The wealth of a nation is the wealth of all of it's people, not just the wealth of those few who are placed by good fortune, patronage, generations of injustice, and some degree of personal industry at the top of the heap.
