ACen "Frontier"

Just a few more hours before heading out for Anime Central, so to kill some time I watched episode six of Macross Frontier.  It was definitely worth the wait to download.  Of course I didn't really have a choice since I'm using a 56k connection and the smaller 170 MB MP4's being released by Anime-in-Action fansubs still take me a good 15 hours to download.  The series is having some wonderful music, especially the ending theme, and some nicely done CG work for the mecha combat.  My one real concern is that the end credits are filled with Filipino names.  Makes me wonder just what it is that's being done in Manila and if I should be concerned.  After hearing about the filipino disaster with the live-action Zaido series, it makes me wonder.  Oh well...nothing I can do about that.  As long as the story holds up, the animation looks good, and we get some good music (God I REALLY need to get my hands on more and more of the Macross 7 soundtracks...not to mention watch the original SDF and 7) then I'll be one happy viewer.

The best thing is that thanks to some advice from my friends, I've finally gotten around to working on a series through downloading instead of being such a mooch with their faster connections.  It may take a while but it's just coming out...no need to rush.  The only downside about doing this is that now I'm staying away from /m/ on 4chan so that I don't get spoiled on things from Frontier or Code Geass: R2.

Oh, almost forgot.  I've also gotten caught up on quite a few series:

Zero no Tsukaima seasons 1 and 2 - Pretty good.  More like a light snack but I enjoy my desserts.
Sousei no Aquarion - Loved it...except the ending.  I wonder what the hell Kawamori is thinking about when he does this.  Please don't do this to Frontier.
Devil May Cry - mostly fluff.  Works better if you've played the games.  I've only got a passing knowledge thanks to my gamer friends but on it's own...good for one viewing or if you need to kill time.
Mnemosyne episodes 1 through 3 - It's...different.  Interesting, but different.
Code Geass season 1 - I like it, but I swear they better not do for R2's ending what they did for season 1.  That cliffhanger is so annoying.  At least try to deal with a couple of the lesser plot points.  Wasn't able to find who was subbing R2 until recently so once I get a starter of episodes 1-5, I'll be able to work from 6 on.
Gundam 00 - They've redeemed the franchise from the suck of Seed & Seed Destiny.  Can't wait for season 2.
Rosario + Vampire - Mostly harem fluff, but good to kill some time.  Only 13 episodes so far.

Live-Action:
Densha Otoko - FINALLY got to see this!  So happy and I loved it.  Definitely shows how sad a loser I am when I caught the anime references within the show, in his room and I'll need to put it back into rotation.
Madan Senki RyuKenDo (up through episode 25) - It's a toku series that's very laid-back and has lots of fun.  Long as I keep my mind in neutral, it's good television.  Just wished I knew why the TV-Nihon AVI subs I have are being such a problem.  No problems until 22, then the player starts skipping forward arbitrarily and jars me from enjoying it.  Went from Windows Media to Divx player and it froze the damn computer, forcing a restart.  At this point I may just say "To Hell" with this series and let it go.
Cutie Honey: The Live - What can I say?  It's Honey Kisaragi, for cripes' sake!  Though I will admit that now I'm afraid to watch Kamen Rider 555 again (if I still had the TV-N subs I lost) without seeing Kusaka/KR Kaixa doing a Honey Flash!  At least I can have my Mark Motherfuckin' Musashi.

Speaking of Mark Musashi, I need to apologize to Mike Dent @ ACen for not being able to get my hands on Episode 51 of R5 Central just yet.  Supposed to be some juicy bits and a review for "Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight" that I hope will look and be much better than the eariler attempts...like Zaido (at least...that's what Mike was going on about in the podcast.  Never saw Shaider or Zaido.)

Well look at the time!  Gotta finish packing and getting ready to go.  Take care all 2 of you that actually reads this or even cares and if you're going to Anime Central in Chi-town, hope to see ya there.
