are we really as open minded as we'd like to think we are? it seems requisite to automatically assume that we have open minds. we're open-minded to you know, new music that might be a little weird, or to new food that might be a little ethnic, but at 17 can an individual really have been exposed to enough to even have the capacity to be open minded to something completely new? even with crazy messy lives, there's a structure we follow, a path to follow, and people who don't follow the path are weird. there are tighter standards than we even realize that we hold for ourselves and for others. it's easy to claim to have an open mind, but a rarity to actually have one i think.
