Hikaru couldn't remember the last time she'd been in so much pain. Her muscles were stiff, her joints ached--it felt like she pinched half the major nerves in he body while she had been sleeping and now had to suffer for it. When conscious thought finally pervaded her mind, all she could worry about was Meier thinking something had happened to her after he took her blood. Making her way to her laptop, Hikaru typed a quick message of what she hopd would be reassuring, but upon finding out how much she had missed--after talking breifly with Meier, Kuchiki-san, and Garrus...

Something was definitely wrong. Bad things had taken place while she had been out--but the doll she was clutching in her hand led her to believe someone had been in her room, at least. Or...

Had she done something? Had she gone somewhere? She couldn't remember anything. Trying to jog her memory, Hikaru's mind flashed to the nightmare she had awakened to--

Dark hallways. Screaming. Blood. Moving shadows. It didn't--it hadn't been a friendly dream. It was unlike any nightmare she'd ever had in the past.

Moving shaking limbs, Hikaru forced herself to eat something, and to drink one of the juice boxes she found on her desk, then she began to scrutinize the doll in her hand--the doll whose arm she hadn't been able to quite get herself to put down. It had blond hair that was matted to its porceline skull with some weird, red substance that looked to be powder, or rust. One of its blue eyes was gouged out and it jiggled slightly in the doll's skull. It's white dress wasn't very clean, and it looked rather grotesque and decrepit over all, but Hikaru couldn't seem to put it down--couldn't force her fingers to peel themselves away from the arm of the doll.

But Meier will be here, soon. Maybe the doll was a get-well gift from someone? I should thank them...

She didn't know for certain if it was a gift, though, and the thought of showing anyone the doll--the thought of thanking someone for the gift and then realizing it was a loan...

No. It would be safer to hide it, for now. No one should see it, lest they tried to take it away from her. She'd keep it safe. For now, she wouldn't mention it...she'd see what might happen, and if anyone mentioned it. She decided to hide if in her closet before Meier got there and began asking questions about it--questions she wouldn't be able to answer. She had to hide it well, though. No one could see it. She'd guard it safely.

Walking back toward her bed, Hikaru couldn't find it in her to tear her gaze away from her closet and where the doll was hidden. It would be safe there. It had to be.
