Germany had experienced stress before. By God, he'd had a stomach-ache since 1914, it seemed... and maybe even before. But this? This was stress like nothing he had ever felt before. He had awakened this morning to discover that literally every other Nation imprisoned in the Asylum had overnight turned into a child-version of themselves, with no memory of anything that had happened since their arrival here: their only frame of reference, that which they had known at whatever age they were.
And he was the lone adult among them.... none of them seemed to know who Germany was, so he had had to present himself as a magically-aged Holy Roman Empire--and even then, China and Egypt probably had no idea who he was under that name either.
Well, it made no difference. He was going to protect them all if he could, starting with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. The former two were inside Liet's room; Latvia was on his way, accompanied by the "nice lady", whoever that was. Ludwig hurried to the cafeteria, stocked up on everything safe to eat that he could get his hands on, and brought along some helpful documents for the little Nations: a list of safe foods, a map of the asylum, and little sketches of the people Ludwig considered dangerous or problematic toward the Nations even in the best of times. For the rest of it, he intended to sit out here and drive off anyone who even looked as if they might cause problems for his brethren... whether they wanted him to or not.
Now if he could just figure out how to get Egypt and China here....
