He had drunken nearly all of the beer Rufus had given him. It hadn't really hit him yet, it was only one bottle after all, but if he had drunk all of it there wouldn't have been any later... And he knew that it still would not have been enough.
At least the first effects of the alcohol had already started to set in. He didn't shake as much anymore, and... It just was easier. More alcohol meant at least a little less worrying, and that meant being less scared. But he still couldn't stop thinking about Daina... Or, even more, about what had happened before. What the reflection had done.
His eyes wandered out into the hallway again. he had been sitting in this spot for nearly all of the past days, Daina in his lap, back against the wall right next to his door, door open so he could watch the hallway without being out there. Midna's threat to feed her snake with Daina still worried him, and...there was still Russia, only a few doors away...
