There's one thing I really don't like about some children's illustrations. I've ignored it for years, but now that Talia's got a whole childhood to get through in front of me I might, once again, be faced with animals with two mouths. Not really with two mouths, but in order to look more human or something, sometimes beaks or trunks or snouts are used as noses, and some stupid creepy smiley face is inserted underneath.

It's unnerving.
But elephants with upper lips are worse.
