It was very strange to be back here, amongst the school-issued furniture and her modern clothes and her iPhone. There were no candles or servants to bring boiling water for a bath, and down the hall she could hear the chatter of people her own age rather than the hushed whispers of Rome or Qarth.
It was strange, but it warmed her all the same. This was home, as much as she'd known one. It was as good as the house with the red door, in her memory, and elicited the same feelings in Dany. Today, she was lazily unpacking her things and recharging her phone as she patiently read and deleted each three-month-old message that appeared.
On her desk was the letter to Jorah that she'd started in Rome, but she couldn't finish it now. She'd sent word that she'd returned to Fandom, yes, but a longer message would be saved for later. Right now, Dany was wrapping herself in the trappings of this world, rather than clinging to the two she'd just left. She would have to tell him of the unfortunate matter of the Kingslayer, anyway, and that was a conversation she was not ready to have. What had her knight not told her?
[open door and post, for newbies and oldbies alike, whoo. I have open house from 1:30-3:30 EST but other than that I should be around pretty much all day! \o/]
