Centipedes discovered missing from the port laboratory. unburiable April 2 2003, 22:17:23 UTC
Specific Insects: How very frightening. My power just went out again, and there is still too much that needs to be done. I cannot have this as a residual occurrence, don’t you see?

Dead Baby Captain: is it stormy?

Specific Insects:Nope. And that’s the scary thing about it. I had my neighbor Jenkins make a cursory check of the grounds and he noticed nothing out of the ordinary, but I’m not so sure Jenkins would know exactly what to be on the look-out for. It's been going out in different wings of our building (the power), so I think we're having “electrical shortages,” as they’d so like to say on the telephone.

Dead Baby Captain: power crisis, how familiar. oh, and half the southeast quarter went out last week.

Specific Insects: It's not the fucking same; I’m telling you that things have been strange here as of late. The power has been going out in Julee’s room all day, intermittently in the living room, and just now, for the first time, in my room. Why my room? I don’t like it one bit.

Dead Baby Captain: and did you catch that talk about l.a. and forwarding the email before you got disconnected?

Specific Insects: Oh Christ no. No, I did not. I thought when you mentioned it to me just the other day that I had implied to you that I was going to visit Los Angeles while I was visiting you, which is impossible, and you should well know that. There is plainly too much to be worked over at the station and at the lab. There is simply no extra time.

Dead Baby Captain: why's that? you've known the gallows dimensions for like a month or two, right? come on, what's the deal?

Specific Insects: When I said the closest I'd probably ever be to Portland, the operator in Lawrence mentioned there were “friends” in Portland that his Los Angeles “friends” would know. So he kept telling me to call him when I get to Portland. How did a meaningless operator for the plant in Hutchinson know I was going to be arriving in Portland by private jet airplane?

Dead Baby Captain: that’s fucking scary. we checked out every airline, nothing even close to that.

Specific Insects: I’ve secured an apartment furnished with couches that cost $4,000 apiece.

Dead Baby Captain: to paraphrase melissa, must be nice to have a couch. that's the only thing i'm curious about.

Specific Insects: I’ve mentioned the ill looking birds seen about the docks to our friends at the lab.

Dead Baby Captain: yeah, that's not exactly what i was questioning.

Specific Insects: I know it wasn't.

Dead Baby Captain: well, come on then.
