http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/09/070920-raptor-feathers.html it's weird how I've read books about dinosaurs ever since I could even pick up a book, but in my mind the logical and natural image of one has been replaced by the one from modern discoveries, i.e. it's natural in my imagination to see a raptor or dromaeosaur (sp?? i spelled it right the first time, retarded) with at least a few feathers or feathered areas, and a picture of a dinosaur with a dragging tail and reptilian hips makes my brain itch.
it seems more logical for something this size to have evolved from a smaller or more gliding one, unless the primary type feathers were just for display...?? down is obviously evolved as better insulation, so thats a no-brainer
...yeah, what that guy said... in TFA
