I love books
Really. A lot. I was just cleaning out/cleaning up/organizing my room. And one of the first things I did was re-organize my bookshelf. My Aunt was here about a month ago and decided that cleaning up a bookshelf meant taking all the books off and putting them in boxes. Dude, not okay. Don't touch my books!!! Anyway, so she had packed them up in boxes and Oh my god, I didn't realize I had so many books!!! I had about 6 or 7 boxes full of them!!! Plus the manga on my other bookshelf. I was kind of impressed, actually. It made me really happy though, because it was like oh boy! Memories, yay!!! Because I got to remember reading through all of those books and how excellent they were, and what other sorts of things I was doing at the time. For instance, the Coldfire Trilogy books remind me of Lauren, because I think we were reading those at approximately the same time. Or maybe not. Regardless, I just remember this one time where I was reading some really funny quotes from it to her. And then those books by Christie Golden I leant to Lauren and Leigh and they absolutely loved them. Kushiel's books were from Lauren (she gave me a lot of books :P) Cate Tiernan books were from Lauren and Leigh and junior year late spring/early summer. Balefire I was reading on the way to California one winter break the last time I went there with my family. Shannara books were early high school or else late middle school. I think I was reading one of the later ones at one of Mark's tennis matches. Anita Blake books senior year summer and also tied to Lauren, Lauren, and Leigh. Man... they were such great books too!! I really want to go back and read a bunch of them again! But then I have SO many more still to read!
I realized something amusing though, which was that for all that my dream is to have a library full of all the books I've ever read (mostly really awesome fantasy books, probably I'd add manga, psychology, and Japanese books on there too) I'm kind of well on my way there. All I'm really missing is the bookshelves, and the space to put them all. :P
But cleaning my room so far was just really great. I found a lot of really fun stuff that is full of memories. Like a whole bunch of high school graduation cards. They were the sweetest things ever!!! I remembered how much fun high school was, especially senior year. I think that was probably my favorite year of my life so far. Just because I was really happy, had an excellent group of friends who all got along really well with each other and with me, mostly got along with my family (as good as usually :P), and just had a whole lot of fun. Oh, plus I think I was doing Abunai then (the great RP forum I was co-admin for) which was sweet!!! And also, my senior year, I felt really special. Because it was like all my friends were juniors, and so I was pretty much the ringleader. And also, they really respected and looked up to me a lot and did a lot of nice things. Yeah, that was great. So I just love the memories from it. I really miss it too.
