So I'm making dinner for my family tonight. Everybody panic.

Well, okay, not everybody needs to panic. Just me. And maybe the people that will be eating my food. I don't think I got the cooking gene; my mother's fantastic, and so is my older sister. Even two of my brothers thought seriously about becoming chefs, and the third actually works at a restaurant (not, admittedly, in the kitchen). But I'm fairly meh about it. Possibly because I'm fairly meh about food in general. Drinks, I can get excited about, especially if there's a caffeine base. Food, not so much.

But I'm making Mexican food, so that's pretty easy. Difficult to mess up too badly. Two kinds of tostadas, shrimp and chicken. It is really hard to make something that involves avocado and jalopeno inedible, so unless I'm in super!failure mode tonight, we should all still be alive after dinner. I'll keep y'all posted. Just know if you never hear from me again, there was probably a terrible incident with a blender and an exploding tomato.
