I've seen some amazing shows lately. A few weeks ago at
The Stone, I saw
Todd Reynolds with
Iva Bittova and it was AMAZING! Seriously, I was so inspired, it was one of the best performances I've seen in a long time. Aside from being supremely talented, Todd is also a really nice guy. If you find out about any performances he is doing in your area, I highly suggest that you check it out.
Last night I went to check out what was going on at the
VIM Tribeca concert series at
Gallerie Icosahedron, curated by
Judd Greenstein and
Kimball Gallagher, and I saw William Brittelle's
Mohair Timewarp. It was wild. Sophisticated and Rockin'.
After the show, I hung out with some awesome musicians, including
John Altieri,
Ken Thomson, the musicians in Mohair Timewarp, and Judd. It was a good time had by all. I really need to start going to more VIM Tribeca shows, not only because they have some great performances coming up in the next few weeks, but also because Judd confirmed that I WILL BE SINGING ON THE SERIES IN THE SPRING!!!!!!!
As far as everything else goes, I'm painting my apartment, which is a pain, but those ugly dark-orange walls the last tennants left had to go. I also have some more auditions coming up at the end of this month, so keep your fingers crossed for me! Tomorrow night I'll be checking out the show at the
Bowery. Its the Downtown Music Gallery's 16th Anniversary show, including performances by
John Zorn,
Raoul Bjorkenheim, and
Lukas Ligeti. I told you my life is fun! :)
