Ever have something really cool happen completely unexpectedly, just out of nowhere? Tonight I got an email from the Messiah Choral Society in Grand Junction, expressing interest in hiring me as the bass soloist for their annual performance of Handel's Messiah this Easter! Apparently there will be a 19 piece orchestra, a choir of between 65 and 75, and an expected audience of over 700. I wrote back to let them know that I'm available, and they will call to discuss payment and housing arrangements.
The interesting (and really flattering) part is that I never auditioned or applied for this; they sought me out. I wonder how they found out about me?
