I'm still delivering papers. It's getting easier, but no more fun. My sleep timetable remains messed up after I stayed up late for celebratory dinner after getting offered a job at the Public Defender's office. Yeah, so I'm going to be working a real job again starting in 2 weeks. :)
Perfect timing, something gave out on the right rear suspension of my car not long ago. :P It's still driveable, it just rides a little loose. I'm hearing, probably the shock or strut. So I looked around at options for replacing the 16-year-old stock suspension which is probably, like the spare wheel and tire in the hatch, almost as rusty as the Titanic. And so we begin the list of modifications/aftermarket parts (which I hope doesn't get quite as long as many other people's) with:
NISMO coilover shock kit. This will be ordered in a few weeks once a shop confirms what's wrong and I have money to buy it with.
Matt was talking about
his bike the other day and joked about putting a Knight Rider scanner light somewhere on it, and I said, "I was thinking that one of those could actually look cool on the 240sx, being that the nose is not that dissimilar from the '80s Trans Am." And he said, "It shouldn't be that hard, with the resources of the [his work] shop, we could really do that."
So I poked around online and found
a KILLER kit that comes with the light hardware completely set up, and even includes the KITT sensor sound effect. With a 120-foot range remote. I emailed the guy to ask about measurements, and he can tweak the angle of the center bend, as well as the length, and it's available in 1.25" tall/deep and 1.5" tall/deep. We have to measure, but it looks like it should fit well in the narrow upper grille of the 240 between the headlights, as long as we can get away with reducing the airflow through there.
Looks like this is going to be a black 240 within the next couple months. :D
