Parker: He turned 21 this month. What the heck. He's doing SO great at Regent. He's a junior and on track to graduate next year with his Biblical Studies degree. He's looking into grad school in Portland; I find that equally exciting and scary. I mean, what if he gets out there and wants to stay? I don't THINK he would. Mostly because Olivia is a family girl and her parents are in North Carolina. Oh, yes... Olivia! We adore her. She's also a junior at Regent, majoring in Psychology. She's a tall, beautiful, intelligent, musical blonde. But most of all, she loves Jesus. They're talking wedding bells. :)
Peyton: Seventeen and about to graduate high school in two months. I'm ready this time. HE'S ready. Not that I want these two months to fly by; I'm soaking in as much as so can before he leaves in June to work at Word of Life for the summer. But it's easier this time than with Parker. Partly because I've done it before. And partly because Peyton is so excited about the new friendships and the study. After the summer, he'll get back and spend a month at home before returning to do his year of Bible college there. The boy is so on fire... genuinely. He's discovered a love for apologetics and is considering teaching theology/church history/apologetics for his future career. He's got time to think about that. He's so smart. He could do anything he wanted.
Mabry: She turned 13 last month. She's still all glitter and rainbows. Her hair is currently pink and purple, after having been purple and teal and blue. There's no doubt art is in her path. She's reaching an age where I can talk to her... I'm so much more of a teen mom than a kid mom, so it's exciting. Mostly, she listens to music and learns songs on the uke. She loves worshipping, but isn't yet into real bible study. She'll get there. :)
Fin: Lord help me. He's 7 and smarter than all three other kids combined. Like, scary smart. Too smart for me. He absorbs every bit of information you put in front of him. He also has the temperament of... whatever has a bad temperament. He can go from cuddling to hitting in 4 seconds flat. I know it's just his emotional side not matching up to his intellect. So I'm trying to be patient while we wait for those two aspects of his brain to get on the same track. He's really starting to develop a searching heart for God, though. He loves reading his kids' Study Bible and memorized the books of the New Testament without us knowing he was even trying. I'm excited to see that take root.
Jeff & Me: We found out a few weeks ago that Jeff was promoted to lab manager and will be running a new lab opening in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After a year and a half here in Georgia, we finally get to escape this tiny town. I've learned a lot about myself, the most important being that I don't like small town USA anymore. It was a tough move from Virginia (which we loved), but I'm hoping this next location will be better for the kids. I'm in the process of searchcing for a house and a church. I hate these searches. Ready to be there and be settled.
