WRITE UNTIL WE DIE JULY FAQ AND SOME INFORMATION NO ONE ASKED ABOUT
After much deliberation and discussion, TPTB have come up with the following guidelines for Write Until We Die July
~ The challenge is supposed to be challenging. That's what makes it powerful, mean and a little evil fun. If you don't think you can make an honest attempt at the goal of 1500 words a day, perhaps this is not the challenge for you this time around. That's not to say we don't want you, because we do. We want you bad. But we also want everyone striving for the same goal.
~ The official AIM chat of this challenge is WUDJ. Aces! Get yourself into chat or ping me (unavoidedcrisis) for an invite. After your first or second time, you'll probably have a screen name for someone else you can ping if I am not online (I do sleep sometimes, guys).
~ The official Twitter hash tag of Write Until We Die July is
#WUDJ. Double aces! Use it, abuse it, lurk it when you can't get on AIM...
~ If you are being a jerkass to someone, you're booted. Lookit Miguel's serious face up there. He means business folks. And yeah, it's just AIM and we're not the police*, but there's no cause to be rude, even if you disagree with someone. I don't think this will be an issue.
~ When you hit your daily goal of 1500 min., you have to tell whomever is around. If someone tells you they have hit their goal, you have to make a big fat hairy deal about it. Streamers and cake and maybe fashion them a crown of daisies. This sort of challenge will fall apart without team spirit. And we're all on team writer. ♥
~ We'd also like to see you get your blog on (more words, egads!). You can keep track of your progress that way, and the rest of us can track it too!
~ You can start at midnight in your time zone and must be finished on July 31st at midnight in your own time zone (Technically, August 1st). a day, however, can be measured by 'midnight to midnight' or from 'wake up to sleeping again'. That's a personal preference.
~ Any further comments or questions can be left here. You can also PM me, IM me or tweet about it. You can post something to your LJ and maybe I'll see it, or hire a skywriter. I am sitting under a window, after all. Basically, don't hesitate to ask or speak up.
