Revelations

Dec 27, 2008 19:38

So this Wednesday is coming up fast, and that's the last day of this year. For the first time in six years (SIX!), I will not be in Ajax for New Year's. I just had this revelation this morning and it made so sad. Six years is a tradition, and this year I'll break the tradition.

I'll be here with friends, which is awesome, but it's not going to be the same. New chapter and all that. I mean, it'll beat last year: getting drunk with Mama. >.< Endlessly classy.

I had another ahha! moment today. Just about ten minutes ago, actually. My hypothesis still needs testing, so I'll get to sleuthing it in the next few days. I have one of those feelings. And I'm rarely wrong about my feelings (sure, it might take twenty one years, but I'll be right eventually).

Play-Doh rocks hardcore.

Today! (In History): 1831. Some dude named Charles got on a boat named after a dog. Something happened, the world as we know it was altered forever. Something like that. Or else it never happened and the world's living in a lie. Depends on your belief system, I guess.

Quote of the Day: "Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat." [F Scott Fitzgerald]

Bizarre Fact of the Day: The most overdue book in the world was borrowed from Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge, England and was returned 288 years later. How bizarre.

How's that for an awesome house?

The Final Word: Sleuthing!
