"Not gonna say to you, in front of her, 'You walked in on us right as we were about to head to bed,'" David says, without a hint of embarrassment. "So I made some shit up about a movie, and we went back to my place."
He starts putting together the new frame for the window. If nothing else, Rebecca and Yoko are getting a better-looking window out of the deal; the wood looks and smells like fresh pine.
She gives him a small smile.
