Mama, thank you for who I am
Thank you for all the things I'm not
Forgive me for the words unsaid
For the times I forgot

Nino stopped in the area that opened out and stood next to the wind chime as the camera zoomed in on his eyes that had been enhanced with the gray color contacts.

Mama remember all my life

Nino raised an interested brow as his therapist tucked the DDA away and reclined on the futon with a heavy sigh. “Who was that?”

“You would call him ‘papa’ since I’m ‘mamma’ to you,” she smirked in that manner which Nino never could never tell was serious or jocular. “Alors, let’s get back to business. You said you learned something, non? Out with it.”

“It was just mentioned in passing. Something about drugs coming from within JE,” Nino said speculatively, shaking his head and wondering why the devil was nonplussed by this revelation. “Why does everything lead back to JE? Daisuke’s nonsense leads to that host club. That host club nonsense leads back to JE. Matsuda Kei’s nonsense leads back to JE. And now there’s this. Just what is going on?”

“Think, my truffle,” ventured her ladyship, knocking her cane lightly to the side of Nino’s head. “Every time you encounter the 11 it leads you back to JE. You can’t escape JE because it’s stalking you from the shadows.”

“This sounds personal,” snorted Nino derisively, making a face and rubbing his cheeks.

“Oh, it is,” smiled her ladyship with an enigmatic steepling of her hands. “And now there’s the drug connection… Some people just have no finesse with these things. That is why, my pet, I want you to stay low whenever anything with JE is mentioned. If you must dig, do it through Daisuke. Don’t move in for the kill yourself. You’re good, yes. But you can’t take the mastermind down.”

“What do you mean?”

Her ladyship patted his cheek affectionately. “I can’t always be there to bail you out, mon enfant. Be careful how you tread with Daisuke and if you must dig into the JE business, use Daisuke, don’t go into yourself.” As Nino laughed at this maternal concerned, she grabbed his chin swiftly and jerked it towards it. “Don’t heed my advice and that graveyard scene will be your end,” she hissed, digging her nails into his flesh. “If you’re not going heed my advice, I’ll kill you now and take your soul to hell this instant.”

“Does this conspiracy you keep hinting at really run that deep?” queried Nino in a fearful, quiet voice as the devil’s fingers slid down to his throat in a loose choke hold.

“Far deeper than you know, truffle,” she levelled at him as she released him and donned her hat. “I must now whizz. Places to go and mortals to torture.”

“How should I play Daisuke then if I want to dig?”

“You opened with the Queen’s fianchetto followed by the poisoned pawn. I’ll leave the middle game to you. The only rule is to prevent your opponent’s king from moving to the centre of the board. Play queenside castling and consolidate your position. He’s not supposed to know that the pawn is poisoned till the endgame. By then, he will be past caring that it’s poisoned. For the endgame, force one with a queen-and-minor piece play,” offered her ladyship as she got up and leaned against her cane.

“That’s going to be harry,” Nino replied.

“I know. But you’re not impulsive whereas Daisuke is. Work that to your advantage,” was her parting shot as she snapped her fingers to travel to her next patient.

A poisoned pawn...? How delightful! And you got to talk with the hubby. Does Daisuke get adopted or is it only dear Kazu who will join you in hell?

Poisoned pawn... a chess sacrifice that's not what it seems. It's not a common move, but it is favoured by Russian players... That's what Kazu has done. Isn't he a good boy.

I'm adopting the lot of them - Kazu, Daisuke, Saki. Hubby can adopt Jun. The boys will have a far better life with us... *laugh*

Seriously though, Hubby knows something. And he will kill Jun's negligible butt into action soon, I hope. *cackle* If he doesn't, watching Jun watch Ohno fall from the pedestal would be amusing. *snigger*

Any reason why it's so popular among Russians?

Wouldn't you rather see Jun wallow in self pity and anguish as the love of his life stabs him in the heart?

It's a harry move. For the opponent, it's damned if they accept the poisoned pawn and damned if they don't. The Russians are the ones with enough balls to play it and confuse the opponent. At least, that's in the games I've studied.

Yes. Suffering Jun is good. But if Hubby is unhappy because of Jun then I'm displeased. As I told Mephisto, my husband is mine to make unhappy not some miserable slip of a boy. *laugh* I'm a terrible wife, being so possessive.

Ah, what the hell. Let's send Jun on another guilt trip, tear his heart out and stomp all over it in killer boots! *cackle*

Awesome! I love the gutsy Russians! XDDDDD

What does Miyazono care? His job is just to be the uxorious husband that brings down Kitagawa.

Was it Khrushchev who talked about leaving some skin on the person when skinning them so that you will have something to skin off later? We can't kill off Jun just yet. His torture isn't complete...MWA HA HA HA HA!!

I was a Leninist in my early teens. Now I'm a misanthropic nihilist, but when I was younger... Those Russians, they were crafty with their indirectly hitting direct attacks. It tells in their classical music. The Germans are always direct but the Russians have more balls.

Was it Khrushchev? I know of the saying but I don't know if he said it. See, if I don't know, I say I don't know.

Oh la la! More torture for Jun! Oh joy, oh rapture!

P/S: Mortal sin icon looks delicious. *drools and swoons*

Mortal sin man >> Aaron Hotchner (Criminal Minds), head of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. I think you'd like him. I have downloaded the first couple of seasons so I will send DVDs of the show to you when things calm down around here.
