Heh, venomous not poisonous. mmestrange and I were discussing for quite some time that something about Nino seems more dead than deadly. Whereas Jun is more deadly than dead. This in turn spawned the idea of making Nino like the black mamba--a deadly snake that generally tries to avoid human contact (much like our little gamer), but when it attacks its venom is 100% capable of killing if the correct anti-venom is not received in time. For Jun, it's more about if the mood strikes him, he will ambush and kill like the Komodo dragon.

mmestrange sometimes helps with the 'research' by offering additional information to help with some of the references in my story, but most of the time, while readers like you are waiting for an update, there is a great deal of planning, thinking, research, reading, rereading, writing, and editing going on. Some nights I just spend researching different things--animal behavior, flowers, plants, legal systems, diseases, medical conditions, mythology &ca.

I try to be as accurate as possible without taking too much liberty on what is probable and possible. I probably only use about 1 percent of everything that I read and research, but it's very important for me that this fic be something that the readers can really sink their teeth into. The plot is extremely complex--I'll be the first to admit that--but also within the plot are all these fun things I weave in for the readers to find (e.g. the hidden meaning behind the plants that appear in this story, kanji of the names, recurring themes or motifs, significance of numbers, colors, anything and everything!).

Usually I have something in mind either based on previous experience or knowledge and I research it more completely in order to present it to my readers as something relevant to the plot or characterization of my story. I'm glad you're enjoying the story thus far. It does make me happy to hear from the readers.
