Commentary & Analysis CH 17, Ohno Section: Narcissism & Sex Addiction, Part 2 mmestrange August 1 2009, 21:08:11 UTC
Why does this make it easier to squeeze MatsuJun? Well, Jun is an impulsive tower of emotions, capable of hating as well as he loves. This means Jun is the type who actually cares about human relationships, especially those close to him and especially those relationships he has personally fostered. Jun a person who is not only swayed by his emotions (as evinced from the blow up which resulted in him impulsively signing the 2009 contract), it also tells us that Jun cares deeply about the people around him. This is in sharp contrast to Ohno who is so NaSA that he doesn’t care about people because all he cares about is his lusts and desires.

Iago can exploit the fact that Jun is person who is impulsive when his emotions come to play. In fact, Iago has done so with the 2009 contract. And Iago will do so again through Ayu and Ohno. How, you ask? Well, I contend that upon digging up everything about Ayu, it would be simple to orchestrate a little scene to get Jun’s hackles raised. Once Jun bites the bait, kill Jun off. It would be too easy to use Ayu against Jun. Jun is a loving parent and a good father, he would protect Ayu with his life. Miyazono Yuuichi knows this which is why Miyazono cites the ‘what if Ayu were _____’ example to Jun. Miyazono with his acuity of mind and knowledge of the workings of Iago’s mind (because Yuuichi does specialise in bringing down people like Iago) can anticipate that would be just like Iago’s modus operandi to use Ayu as leverage against Jun so as to bring Jun down.

Now, we know that Miyazono has indirectly hinted to Jun that there is a high possibility someone (such as Iago) could use Ayu as Jun’s pressure point to cause Jun’s metaphorical death. Because Jun has been warned in this respect, it is highly likely that he will not bite the bait if Ayu is used as a pressure point and squeezed.

Ah, but that will not deter Iago. Instead Iago will use Ohno’s patronage of Nozoki and Reiya as leverage against Jun. Iago likes taking videos of things. We know this from Kodoai where Jun tells Ohno so in one blink-and-miss line in one of the chapters. We also know this from what Jun tells Miyazono about the video feed to Iago’s office. We also know Iago’s penchant for taping things has extended to Nozoki. No doubt he’s interested in the free porn he gets to watch. We know this because we are told in the chapter where Daisuke watches Nino being manhandled by Reiya on the video monitor. That was being taped for Iago’s viewing pleasure. There can be no doubt that Ohno’s tryst with Reiya was also taped. Since Jun gave up everything to be with Ohno, wouldn’t Jun be devastated if and when he found out Ohno had been a wandering sodding bugger? Of course. It would be just like Iago to use this against Jun so as to get Jun to keel over and hopefully die. Iago wants all of Arashi dead so that he can live, and he wants to kill Jun, he’ll make sure it’s slow, painful and ugly. Using Ohno to bring down Jun would be exactly that.

Having discussed this section at length, I have some residual questions before I move on to the next section.

(01) Will Ohno’s mother think Gima is Nino and thus give away information about Satoshi and Jun?
- How much does Ohno mama know about the 2009 contract? If she knows enough, there’s a slim chance she will say nothing useful to Gima.
- Or if Gima does go to her, will Ohno mama tell Jun or Satoshi?
- What will Jun and Satoshi think that Gima (whom Ohno mama thinks is Nino) is up to? - Will they too think Gima is Nino?
- Will Jun jump the gun and assume that he get Nino roped in on the plan to bring down Iago?
- If Jun thinks and does so (a likely scenario given his impulsive emotions), he will move too quickly and be brought down by Iago instead. Either way, there will be numerous problems for Jun.

(02) In light of the fact that Gima’s responses mirrors that of Daisuke where Reiya is concerned, will Gima go down the Daisuke route and NOT betray Jun or Ohno because Ayu is just a kid?
- Will Gima discover something about Ayu and Ayu’s relationships to Juntoshi? If so, will this give Gima cause to hold back and not screw over Juntoshi?

(03) How will Gima go about digging up on Ohno and on Ayu? What will he find? Will he give himself away? To whom will he give himself away and how? What will be the consequences if he gives himself away?

(04) Ayu has asked before in a much earlier chapter why Juntoshi knows so much about celebrities, when Gima starts poking around, Ayu will start asking questions. Such a scenario is likely to happen given that Gima is a greenhorn at dissimulation. Ayu could notice Gima lurking and has a tête-à-tête with the fellow. Gima could let slip that Satoshi and Jun were celebs. That would give Ayu more fodder for questions. What will Jun and Ohno do in response to that?

(05) Will Jun interrogate Ayu as to what happened in his absence?
- Will Jun be ready to face that truth?
- How will knowledge of what transpired vis-à-vis Ohno and Ayu in his absence affect how Jun views the floral and diamond apology?
- How will Jun react to when he finds out the floral and diamond apology, the things Ayu will reveal about Satoshi and the fact that Gima’s poking around may reveal Ohno’s infidelity are all connected?

Speaking of Ohno’s floral and diamond apology, that too is problematic because of the intent behind those tributes.

[To be continued. I’m not done with the Ohno Section. The commentary for CH 17 is also very far from being complete. Give me time, give me time. For now, I am for bed.]

Of course this analysis is perfect and wonderful. The questions are all valid. I liked (04) in particular. Can't you just see bumbling Gima getting caught by charming curious little Ayumu (who initially mistakes him for Nino-niisan but realizes his mistake when he hears Gima's voice)? Panic, chaos, flail...It's gonna be great XDDD

Of course the panic, chaos and flail is going to occur and we'll have front row seats! *cackle*
