Lady Strange & Mr Aiba – Session 8, part 1 mmestrange July 12 2009, 14:20:21 UTC
It was a short carriage ride from the Hades Health Centre to the hotel in Tokyo where the drug soiree was currently unfolding. It was an easy task to slip into the hotel and thence the poppy room where things were unfolding. The smells therein made her ladyship wrinkle her nose in disdain but she found an empty section where her next client/patient was currently attempting to find his balance ( ... )

Fixing a dull gaze on the man, the devil teased him viciously whilst tearing her nails into his skull, “Didn’t you come here with the intention of uncovering the truth of the connexion between the drugs and JE? Well, it’s here and staring at you straight in the face ( ... )

“Because drugs and the jimusho own his soul. Simple,” she explained, scratching along the cut marks on his wrists. Daedalus - the guy who ‘accidentally’ scraped you with the needle is trapped in the poppy room, so are you, Icarus. You are here because Minos, King of Crete wills it. In the mythology, Minos is a nasty fellow with a penchant for no keeping his word. Minos was one of many brothers and he fought with them for the throne. He beseeched Poseidon, god of the sea, to favour his right to rule Crete instead of one of his brothers. Poseidon favoured Minos’ suit and sent him a beautiful white bull as a mark of his favour. However, the deal was that Minos would sacrifice this white bull to the gods when he became king. Minos did not do that. He liked having a beautiful white bull to show off and thus did not sacrifice to the gods. Poseidon then punished Minos by making Minos’ wife Pasiphae lust after the bull. Pasiphae commissioned Daedalus to make her a wooden cow which she could climb inside. In so doing, Pasiphae got the white ( ... )

Ahhhh, I was grinning the whole time I read M. Aiba's session. I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I read that part about Poseidon becoming the 'self-righteous sadistic god'. Your commentary never fails to bring me joy. The readers should read this therapy session to gain a deeper understanding of Aiba's situation.

You spoil M. Aiba. Not only do you summarize all the players, but you even give him a solution! (This is nothing new, but still.) Now what will M. Aiba do? Let's hope he doesn't end up trying to 'fly out the window' *smirks* and escape the tower in Crete the Poppy Room in the hotel. Heh...that might work thematically....hmmm... *smirk*

There is dark humour in all my therapy sessions and commentaries. It's a matter of whether they're caught or they continue to fly under the radar.

The trend in my therapy sessions is that I tend to drop hints all around. When those hints are caught and when the client/patient starts thinking, I'm a little kind to them. Noblesse oblige, you know. *wink* The fact that Aiba has shown some initiative in doing something about his situation and that he cares for his friends is most pleasing to me. Thus, I rewarded him with a breakdown of who's who in the parable. The escape route is extra and at no additional charge.

Oh la la! Aiba out the window? That could work thematically. It has lots of potential.

The question that remains is does he make an attempt to 'fly' out the window of his own volition? Or perhaps he feels so trapped that he would rather 'jump' than be caught--ooh kamikaze attitude--? Or maybe Daedalus will push him to his death, perhaps invoking the compassion of Athena...?!

OOH!! Much to think about!! Anyway, it appears I may have some sporadic internet. Right now we are traveling about the city of Medellin, the hometown of my friend. I will try to comment in between adventures...

Yes, Aiba, take a flying leap...out the window!

Ooh! If Daedalus does pushed Aiba out the window and Aiba does invoke the compassion of Athena, who is Athena in this set up?

Ah...My brain is going into overdrive again and I'm still not done with the commentaries...

Meanwhile, stay safe in your travels.

Hmmm... I think it's because you usually don't the kind of streneous activities you've described (of running and hiking &ca) that you became breathless. Breathlessness can so easily become asthma. Perhaps nice slower and leisurely walks are in order instead of hikes. There are nature rambles that one might go on that go leisurely. Rousseau himself advocates such leisurely rambles in his Reveries of a Solitary Walker.

Chronic ailments are things one doesn't outgrow. Just because they don't surface for years doesn't mean they're not there. Drs Mary and Margot (the online appellation I give my Drs) often tell me that chronic ailments are like dormant volcanos. One never knows when they're flare up again. The only thing one can do is to be aware of the dangers and to take preventative measures. I dismissed all that as rubbish when I haven't had a petit mal or grand mal in years (between 1999-2006). Then when I went over to that wretched university in 2006 and I had agitated myself into convulsions. Ghastly business ( ... )
