After a fortnight of strikes by demon nurses, the public trial and execution of several goblin trade-and-worker union leaders, the Hades Health Centre was back in business. However, owing to the summer holidays, the Health Centre was not as busy as it should have been and several of the lesser devils were not in attendance. Not so for the staff of the Tartarus Wing, for there, the hardcore cases of almost damned souls and souls damned to perdition were of the utmost importance to the practitioners of the psychological arts. Indeed, Lady Strange, head of the Misanthropy and Malcontent ward was hard at work reviewing her current patient files. She had been there for the past two days to catch up on work. In fact, she had just finished annotating the current file on the youngest of her patients when the door to her office flung open ( ... )

The man paused on the threshold, uncertain as to what he should do. It wasn’t so much the fact that he had never been in his therapist’s office that disturbed him. No, Sho was more perturbed by the fact that his therapist actually had some kind of social life and was capable of holding a normal conversation with someone. “Er… What about Miss Haineko ( ... )

“A damned spineless horse with blinker who doesn’t even look around at what he can see ahead,” her ladyship’s voice undertook the quality of a metallic lilt as she tightened her grip in the man’s chin. “The facts about Iris are right in front of you and you didn’t even notice a thing ( ... )

“I’m afraid not. He’s being deliberately obtuse. He doesn’t even seem to understand that he’s as spineless and brainless as a piece of shit,” shrugged Lady Strange before she leaned back into the chaise longue and addressed Show. “Now then, Mr Sakurai, when you’re done marvelling at the shapely beauty of your arse, have you noticed why Dr Etrange is so informal with Dr Tsuchimoto whereas dear Aides is so formal with her? What’s going on there that she can hold something over his head ( ... )

“I’m not insincere. I just need time to sort things out,” blustered Sho nervously as the vines from the wallpaper reached out and wound themselves around him. He tried to escape but found it difficult to coordinate his motor functions when his head was literally on backwards ( ... )

First appearance by Mlle Iris... Heh, and the bee comes out of the flower!!! The sting he received was a warning. Too bad the old boy is too daft to realize the next time she stings, he might very well go into anaphylactic shock like Ayumu.

Sho is most definitely insincere like his name suggests! Though if he would only open his eyes and look at what's in front of him, he would realize that his insincerity gave away a crucial part of Iris' character and that he would do good to note it for future reference when he ultimately must choose between little Ma-chan and the Mlle. If he could only realize this now...he would save himself so much trouble! Alas, this horse is nearly blind! What a waste of two eyes. tsk, tsk, tsk.

Very nice work on Mlle Iris' designer purse by the way. I thought it was subtle, but you honed in on its significance immediately I see. I wouldn't expect anything less of the inspiration for my Dr. Etrange.

Sho, the scrotum-less, spineless, brainless, blind, insincere buffoon needs a great shock before he grows sense. Therefore, I say, "Give it to him" and freely grant you my blessing for further torturing him with Mlle Iris.

His insincerity is mindblowing, almost as breathtaking as M. Ohno's hypocrisy.

The handbag was obvious to me, just like that tome she's carrying (which I am convinced she pinched from Isabelle's vault). Besides, you never include anything without a good reason. There may be touch-and-go references, but they all have some significance. I will cover this in further detail in the post-morts to CH 16.
