Title: 孤独から生まれた愛 (Love Born out of Loneliness)

Author: Mayonaka no Taiyou/Unare Haineko

Pairing: [Juntoshi] Matsumoto Jun x Ohno Satoshi

Rating:  PG-13-ish overall, but NC-17 for Chapter 07

Summary: Due to some bizarre coincidence, Ohno unexpectedly wanders into Jun’s company one lonely evening.  Jun, in a rare display of his softer side, unknowingly fills some of Ohno’s emotional voids, voids Ohno was not aware he even had in his heart-that is, not until Jun filled them.

“Ohno-san?”

“Hmm?”

“Do you have a few moments?”

“Sure, what’s up?” asked Ohno spinning to face Erina.

“I wanted to ask you something.”

“What about?”

“Is that alright with you?”

“Shoot.”

“Do you love my brother?”

Ohno was taken aback at the directness of the question, but he was not surprised. After all, if Erina was anything like Jun, then frankness and directness was a given.

“I do.”

“Why?”

“We get along well, but he also treats me very well.”

“Has he ever hurt you or anything?”

“No, he’s really good to me.  Why?”

“Does he get violent?”

“Violent?  You mean when he’s angry?”

“Yes.”

“Of course,” said Ohno matter-of-factly.

“Of course?”

“But that’s nothing new,” continued Ohno, staring at his bandage.  “When he gets upset, he’s been known to throw stuff across the room, out the window…oh, I think he broke the wall once…or twice…”

“And that doesn’t bother you?”

“Not really.  He doesn’t really get mad at me.  He gets mad at Aiba and the staff all the time though.   Oh, he got really mad when I went fishing and didn’t call or tell him when I was coming home, but that was understandable-“

“Really?”

“At first I didn’t understand, but he really was worried about me.  He thought that something happened to me.  He said he wants to know where I am and what time I’m coming home when I go fishing because if I don’t come back, he needs to know what time to start worrying and where to look.”

“You don’t think he’s just being a control freak that doesn’t’ trust you?”

“I did, but he’s just worried. It’s not a matter of trust.  See if he didn’t trust me, he would call me all the time and demand to know where I was every second of the day.  But he doesn’t.  Only when I go fishing.  So I know that it’s just because he cares about me.  You know, I don’t think anyone’s ever told me how much they cared about me to my face in my entire life.”

Ohno seemed to realize he was rambling and stopped himself.

“But actually, when Jun is vocal about his dissatisfaction that means he’s angry, but not to the point of no return.”

“The point of no return?”

“The point when you need to start worrying because he’s gonna retaliate.  See when he’s throwing stuff around and breaking stuff, he’s just venting.  Then he’ll go and sulk in the corner and seethe for a few hours.  Then he’ll get up, confront the person or situation and get it resolved.  There’s no retaliation even if the other party was wrong.  End of story.  But when he gets silent, that’s when he’s the most upset.  Jun doesn’t ignore people.  When you ask him a question, even if it’s a stupid one, he’ll respond.  It may not be the answer you’re looking for and if it’s a stupid question, he’ll probably make some snide comment with the remark, but he’ll answer.  Aiba does that to him all the time regardless of what kind of mood Jun is in, but then again, Aiba was never good at reading the atmosphere.  But when Jun doesn’t say anything and you know that he heard you-that is when you gotta start worrying.”

“Ohno-san, why don’t you just give up on my brother?”

“Huh?  Why would I do that?”

“Because when you two break up, the one who will be broken up will be Jun.  He’ll get attached and he’ll be screwed when it all ends.  I mean, let’s be serious.  You live together, but you don’t really love each other do you?  It’s just convenient, just for the sex-“

“I dunno what all that has to do with us but,” interrupted Ohno. “I don’t understand why I have to give up Jun.  I mean, I went through all the trouble of making a decision-”

“Trouble of making a decision?”

“Yeah, I don’t usually decide to do anything.  I live by the principle, if it’s meant to be, it will be.  But Jun asked me to choose.  So I made a promise.”

“To do what?”

“Love Jun and only Jun.  My logic may be simple and naïve, but I love Jun and I want to be with him.  I’m sorry, I can’t give him up,” Ohno bowed and was about to get up and look for Jun, when Jun suddenly stormed back in with a garbage bag hanging out of his back pocket.

“ERINA!” Jun came over and slapped her in the face.  “How dare you insult him like that?!”

“What the hell was that for?!” she shouted, holding her cheek.  “Were you listening the whole time?!”

“I wasn’t.  But I heard enough!  A relationship of ‘convenience’?!  ‘Just for the sex’?! What the FUCK was that?!”

Jun was fuming, but Ohno touched his arm lightly.

“It’s okay, Jun.  She was just asking-“ said Ohno.

“No, that is unacceptable,” Jun lashed back.  “Erina, what’re you trying to do here?  Actually, I don’t even wanna know-“

“Juunn,” Ohno said, trying to calm Jun down.

“…I’m sure not gonna stand you being rude to him.  Leader, get your things.  We’re going now-”

“What about the plants?” demanded Erina.

“Fuck the plants.  What do they need me for?  That woman obviously asked you.  So you can take care of them until they come back-“

“Well, what about me-“

“What about you?”

“I’m busy-“

“Places to go?!  Gimme a break, Erina.  You don’t work.  You don’t even have a job-“

“Neither do you, Jun!”

“What?!”

“You call being an idol work?  Don’t lecture me about working-”

“I don’t even know why I bothered coming home!  I hate this family!” shouted Jun.  “All the three of you ever do is nag me about my work.  I’m tired of it!  The next time that old woman wants a favor tell her to go to hell!”

“Jun, I got your stuff too,” said Ohno, carrying their bags.

“Let’s go,” Jun said, grabbing his bag from Ohno and stomping out, slamming the door behind them.

To be continued…

Nakai: Oi! What's the big idea leaving things like this?!  Thanks to Erina, Matsumoto is in a bad mood.  The sex, hehe, uh, tournament has been put on hold and Ohno's chance to get Matsumoto back  and Matsumoto's idea to tie up that wiseass Arashi leader, Ohno, have been completely thwarted--

Aiba: SEX?!  Who said SEX?!

Nakai: I said it.  What about it?

Sho: See, it's only Nakai-san rambling.

Nakai: Whadya mean, 'only Nakai-san'?!

Aiba: (disappointed) I thought we were talking about something sex related...

Sho: Masaki!

Aiba: Sho-chan!  Sho-chan!  So what about our hypocritical children?

Nakai: Hypocritical children?

Sho: I think he means 'hypothetical'...

Aiba: Sho-chan still hasn't told me if he wants to have hypocritical children with me.

Sho: Masaki, hypothetical or not, children between the two of us would be disastrous.

Aiba: Whyyyyyy???

Sho: Because--

Aiba: Don't worry, Sho-chan.  Aiba men are good looking, natural chefs.  Plus, intelligence is a dominant gene in my family!

Jun: I think that's what he's afraid of...the BAKA gene...can you imagine all the best/worst traits rolled up into one super Sakuraiba kid?  A kid that knows the meanings of all the kanji, but reads them wrong all the time, has a completely athletic body with totally useless muscle stuck to it making him prone to accidents and injuries, and is bouncing off the walls 24/7 talking a mile a minute...(shudders).
