Age/Birthday: 16 / November 30th/1980
House/Year: Hufflepuff / Sixth
Classes: Muggle Studies, Charms, Transfiguration, Astronomy and Defence Against The Dark Arts
Sexuality: Chase is undefined. He identifies as straight outwardly, but when his father came out, he inwardly admit to himself he wasn’t entirely sure of his own sexuality. He is more then happy dating girls, but is currently struggling trying to define what his sexuality is.
Appearance: Chase stands five foot nine in height, short compared to most guys but he’s not self conscious about this as it gives him an edge on his broom. He weighs 11. 4 stone and has a rather compact build. He’s not very muscled by far but he does have impressive arm strength. He has brown eyes and brown hair that he keeps fairly short because if he lets it grow it becomes rather messy, almost like an birdsnest, not something Chase really prefers. He also wears glasses for reading, though often forgets to take them off.
When not in his school robes, he tends to live in his trainers, jeans and tee shirts. When he’s feeling fancy he’ll wear a polo shirt or a sweater, but rarely does he dress up in anything more conservative. He’s more then happy to stay in his school robes though, even in his free time during the day, as he seems to loose clothing when he sends it out to be cleaned, especially socks. Chase has very few paired socks left, as every year he looses the new ones he brings. He’s finally given up and now just wears mismatched socks under his trousers.
Chase moves with a lot of dignity, his head held high for the most part. He has a medium gait and he walks with determination, like he always knows where he is going and that he has a certain amount of time to get there. He has a hard time strolling so when he’s walking with friends, for example, in Hogsmeade, he needs to remember to pace himself so that he doesn’t get too far ahead.

History:
Father: Brennan Trimble
Mother: Leah Goodman
Brennan Trimble was born to his parents on a bright sunny day in late June. He was a happy baby, and rarely caused any trouble, preferring to spend his time in his room playing. His mother, Bonnie was a muggleborn witch and his father, Jonathan was a child that was born from magic, but ended up as a squib, they lived happily in a small house in Scotland’s small town, Stonehaven. Mr. Trimble’s father, named Quentin, wrote the book The Dark Forces: A Guide To Self Protection, some of the money from this book was given to Jonathan when his parents cut ties with him because of their shame. Brennan didn’t have to wait long before he had a sibling. At three, his parents were overjoyed at the arrival of a little girl, Beatrice, as was he. He was very attentive to his little sister and the two got along quite well. She often coursed him in to make believe games, playing between the muggle world and the wizarding world alike. Their mother’s parents were overjoyed at having grandchildren, spoiling them with muggle toys, books and games. Their fraternal grandparents ignored them as much as they ignored their squib son. They both grew content and happy, getting a lot of attention from both parents. Mrs. Trimble worked at the Ministry of Magic in the Magical Transportation Department while Mr. Trimble became a househusband, after quitting his job at Obscurus Books.
While Brennan showed signs of magic very early in life, his sister Beatrice showed nothing. The Trimble’s found out early to not let young children play with their parents wands as Brennan managed to do some minor alterations to his little sister’s room. Mr and Mrs Trimble did not appreciate trying to find a counter charm to get the pictures of dinosaurs off her walls. And when Brennan was sent his Hogwarts letter, they still had no sign of magic from Beatrice. This worried both of their parents, as they knew that it was possible that their daughter could be a squib. Her eleventh birthday came and went and no letter from any institution was sent. Beatrice was crushed, of course, as she had wanted to join her brother at school. Instead she was sent to an all girl’s boarding school at the insistence (and coinage) of Mrs. Trimble’s parents.
Brennan enjoyed Hogwarts immensely; he was sorted in to Gryffindor and did quite well there, managing to get himself a spot on the quidditch team as a chaser. He missed his sister terribly though, as they had a very close bond, but learned to live and grow without her presence. They kept in touch regularly her first few years away from home but eventually it petered off and they only saw each other at the holiday times. This did not bode well with Brennan but he found a new family in his housemates at Hogwarts.
Leah Goodman was the third and last child to her very authoritarian Jewish parents. Born late in to her family, there was a ten-year age gap between her and the sister preceding her. Leah’s parents, a set of purebloods whom had lived in an upscale wizarding community near London, were trying a last ditch effort for a son that they’d always wanted. They ended up with Leah. Leah from birth was a disappointment to her parents. Coming after two sisters who excelled in everything, Leah spent her life trying to catch up. She was not a boy, she was slow to walk, talk, and learn her alphabets. She showed magical signs late in life, was clumsy by nature and was surely never going to be as pretty as everybody else in her family.
She grew up to be a quiet child, fearing that any sort of thing said or done by her would automatically be criticized. Her father was extremely religious, but her mother had only converted for the marriage; although Mr. Goodman would naturally be the parent that a child would dislike more as his beliefs often made life complicated, Leah gravitated towards him more then her mother, as Mrs. Goodman was quite strict and controlling in general. She didn’t get to spend much time with her older sisters as they were off being schooled for most of the time that Leah was a child. She spent a lot of her time alone or with her Nanny.
Leah was not recognized as magical until her ninth birthday. Her sister’s had both shown signs as toddlers and this made Leah very self-conscious. She would often sit in her room trying to make things happen with her mind, even going so far as to steal her father’s wand one day when he had forgotten it and gone out. Wanting no more then to be accepted, Leah could never seem to please her parents one way or the other. When she finally did show some magical ability, her parents merely shrugged it off as if were nothing and that she should have done even better then to fall out of her tree house that was fifteen feet in the air and not have a scratch on her.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Goodman were healers and pressed upon their children that they wanted them all to have good, strong careers in the medical field. Leah resisted this notion as a child preferring her books to the idea of spending her days at St. Mungo’s. She watched as both of her older sister’s pleased their parents, one becoming a Healer and the other a medi-witch. When it came time for Leah to go to school she made sure that she chose her course load wisely, in that she would be able to avoid having the education background to become a healer. Being as busy as Goodman’s were, Leah managed to sneak her decisions by her parents and go on to be very happy at Hogwarts. She was sorted in to Hufflepuff and flourished within her first three years at the institute. Still quiet and passive at home, she began to be a little more vivacious in school, it helped her greatly to come out of her shell.
Brennan met Leah, who was a year younger then he, in his seventh year. She had been out on the quidditch pitch attempting to ride a borrowed broomstick when he’d spotted her. Amused by her lack of any sort of coordination, he’d approached her and helped her to get up and even fly around the pitch once or twice. After their first meeting, the two of them agreed to meet on the pitch every Thursday night, when there was no practice, to have a fly around. Their weekly get togethers ended eventually in a mutual crush. Brennan sealed the deal one night with a simple kiss. They were seemingly enamored.
Brennan finished school that year and went on to work for the cauldron shop in Diagon alley. When Leah finished school she went on to a higher education to become a librarian. Her parents were not terribly pleased, but respected her decision, so long as she had a respectable job. She managed to finish her schooling and got herself a position almost immediately in a wizarding community’s library. It was then that Brennan and Leah decided it would be a good idea for them to move in together. The two were a happy couple, living their lives fairly simply, as neither had a large income. It wasn’t long before Leah found she was with child. Brennan, whom had always thought he’d spend the rest of his life with Leah, realized that he was not ready to be a father. They argued, and slowly became distant from each other, eventually ending up with Leah moving back home and Brennan on his own. Although Brennan’s family urged him to marry Leah, as they were very fond of her, he resisted and slowly became detached from his family, spending a lot of his time partying and spending more and more of his time amongst muggles.
Leah on the other hand, was surprisingly taken in by her family who supported her through her pregnancy and birth of her first and only child Chase Trimble, whom she gave his father’s name, as her last gift to Brennan. She raised Chase with a lot of help from her parents and sisters and managed to go back to work and eventually was able to purchase a small apartment in Diagon Alley above the ice cream shop, by the time her son was six. Growing up with his family as a care giving unit, helped Chase become very thankful. He did not seem to suffer as much as Leah did as a child as he seemed to have a very healthy level of self-esteem. Chase showed magical signs early, which delighted his grandparents. He grew up happy, healthy if not a bit of a troublemaker. His fraternal grandparents saw him on a semi regular basis, usually holidays, but Chase did not meet back up with his father until his third year at Hogwarts.
Chase’s years at Hogwarts tended to be filled with things that were life altering. His first year was all about settling in and creating a family unit around him at his new home. He did well with this, making friends fairly easily and bonding with his dorm mates. Though the same year brought him fear, as his housemate Justin was petrified. He found out a lot about himself that year, and what sort of things scared him. Second year, Chase found himself on the Hufflepuff’s quidditch team as a chaser, (Chase, the Chaser? Yeah he gets that a lot) which helped him keep his mind focused for other things. He had a hard time his second year at school, sometimes home sickness doesn’t settle in right away, and Chase spent his second year missing his family. His third year though, was a time he’ll always remember, and not because of the Triwizard Championship either.
Leah had always told Chase good things about his father, as she wanted to preserve a happy memory for the boy about Brennan. He believed her, mostly, as his grandparents were not always so kind about the situation. He did have a sore spot about his dad abandoning him, but he took it in stride. When Chase went home for winter break, he had a very large but not all too unpleasant shock waiting for him. His father was there to see him. Chase did not take this well and it took him almost the whole break to finally come around to the idea.
His father and he only spent a little time together over the break, and when Chase went back to school he made a promise to his father that he’d write. Through their correspondence, Chase learned a lot about his dad, where he’d been and how sorry he was about abandoning him. He also learned that his father was currently living with a muggle man, and that they’d been together, as a couple, for the last seven years. Chase was shocked that his father was a homosexual, and at first balked. He was not sure he wanted anything to do with his father as he’d grown up in a household that was fairly homophobic, his grandparents especially grandfather loathed the idea of being gay. His mother though, who had always pushed acceptance to all ways of life, urged her son to continue getting to know his father. Chase eventually began writing his father again and the two did so happily for the rest of the year. At school, trouble was brewing as well, as the death of Cedric was terrible for him. He was a secret admirer of the older boy, idolizing his fellow housemate for many reasons. The summer, between third and fourth year proved to be a challenge, Brennan offered for Chase to come and live with him, so perhaps he and his partner could get to know him. Chase at first was reluctant, but was eventually forced by his mother. At first it was very awkward for the boy, he had no idea how to act around his dad or his father’s partner, Jacob, they eventually found their way around each other and had a fairly fun and exciting summer.
Chase’s fourth year was rather mundane, the only exciting thing seemed to be that his father and Jacob invested money that Jacob had been saving in to buying the cauldron shop that Brennan had once worked in, so many years ago. Besides Umbridge making most student’s lives a living hell during Chase’s fourth year, and the speculation if Voldemort was really back, the time wasn’t too horrid for him. He spent a lot of time studying and managing to stay out of trouble by keeping his mouth shut. Chase’s fifth year at Hogwarts, found him with a fairly large crush on Megan Jones. A year older then he, Chase knew he had no chance with her what so ever. He found himself trying to find any excuse to be in the same area as she, but this lead to his realization that he was not studying for his OWLS. After a brief intervention from his friends, Chase began to forget Megan and focus more on the fact that if he didn’t get moving on studying, he was going to fail. At the end of the year, the attack on the school shook him quite a bit. He was never really interested in wizarding politics before, but the realization that anything could happen to him at any time made him realize it was more important then he’d ever thought.
Personality:
Chase has always been a bit of a go-getter. He’s got a lot of personal pride as well as Hufflepuff Pride. He not only inherited his father’s gutso but also his Gryfindor ‘take ‘em by the balls’ attitude. He is boisterous and at times a bit of a loud mouth. Although never pitted against any sort of sibling figure, he is extremely competitive, something he also seemed to have gotten from his father. Although Chase has always been boastful, his cockiness has come down a fair bit in the last few years. He can still be rather sardonic but he’s not as cruelly sarcastic. He sometimes needs to be reminded to not be so loud and to simmer down by his friends.
Chase is extremely loyal when you’re friends, he has no real problem forgiving people and he’s always willing to lend a helping hand. His mother always taught him to be gracious as well when given something, and to hold on to your friends as much as you possibly can, because they’ll be there for you always. Chase who tends to be somewhat flirty, is also socially graceless. He has some endearing qualities though, though not many know about them. He gets rather sweet when he’s tired and he’s a lot more docile. He’s got a soft spot for his friends that are girls though and he tends to be a push over for them. He’s never been very effeminate though, and this confuses him when it comes to his sexuality. He’s going through that questioning phase currently and although he is okay with that inwardly, he would never admit it to anybody, even his friends.
His strengths include generosity, flexibility, his kindness and his independence. He also has a rather level headed intellect and he is full of natural energy. As much as he doesn’t like to admit it, he likes to please people, and is rather proud of himself when he does things randomly for others. His weaknesses include recklessness, he can be rather pessimistic and he tends to blindly make decisions, as he’s not much for details. He can sometimes be tactless, and can be rude, but he’s gotten better with that over the last few years. He is also focused to a point of carelessness, as he likes to see things get done, but sometimes forgets about the hazards that go along with that.
His quirks generally don’t come through on a day-to-day basis but he does have some key points where his neurosis pops up. He has a near compulsive complex about neatness, as he has a great fear of germs and getting sick. He likes to toy with his hair a fair bit when he’s nervous and when he reads he sometimes mouths the words without realizing it. He’s also left-handed and so he complains a lot when he doesn’t have quick dry ink to write with.
Questions
What does your character think of the current situation at Hogwarts, especially the Carrows? He absolutely hates and despises it. Being part ‘muggle’, he knows everything being taught is a lie and it makes him miserable, and he loathes knowing that his education in Muggle Studies and in Defence Against The Dark Arts is being squandered away. He’d love to be able to stand up to them, as his temper does get the better of him sometimes, but he fears repercussions. If given the chance, he’d more then likely send a jinx their way, but won’t as he fears he’ll end up with Justin in Azkaban.
What's your character's deepest, darkest secret? Who might know this? Chase’s darkest secret is his questioning of his sexuality, though nobody would know that, as he hasn’t spoken of it to anybody. His other secret would be that his father is gay. He doesn’t talk about it with a lot of people so few people really know about his living arrangement. Most people know that his parents are not together and that for a long while he was slightly bitter over the fact. He would have probably told his best friend (who that would be is TBD) and possibly anybody else he’s felt close enough to. It is not something that is up for debate for discussion as secretly he’s slightly shamed by it.
Describe your character's Sorting. What about them caused them to go in their house? Chase’s sorting was a nightmare for the sorting hat. It wasn’t exactly sure where to put him, what with his’s known temper issues and his tendency towards Gryffindor’s qualities, it was a hard choice. Hufflepuff did win out over all though because beneath everything Chase would much rather be helping people with everyday things, being a loyal and compassionate friend, then to be a hero.
