Kittens
So Friday night something cool happened.
My dog brought to the back door three kittens.
We looked around, and could not find the mother anywhere.
It seems they were abandoned. Poor little guys.
They were about 2 weeks old, 2 male, one Female.
She is a spunky little cuss, so we named her Starbuck.
Next, we had a gimpy little grey fellow. His back legs did not support much of his weight. So, we named him Gaius.
The last was the runt of the litter, but cute as can be. We named him Gaeta.
Over all, the trio is very healthy. Gaius seems to have a bit of a bloated tummy - we have been cleaning them every night. Not sure if he is just eating too much or if something is wrong. He is the first to the food bowl, and the last to leave it. We have seen him pooping, so at least he's not clogged up.
They love to be held and loved. They follow us around like little puppy dogs =)
They get along great with the cats and the dog - the cats don’t like them so much. Well, Fred gets along great with them now, but Maggie is just being a jerk.
We spoke to the vet, and they advised we do not separate them until they are at least 6 weeks old. We are actively trying to find them homes when they get old enough. So far Gaius may have a home - we are still waiting to hear back on that. A co-worker may wish to have one as well. I’m trying not to do the hard sale until they are a little older, as waiting for that new kitten can be tough =)
