So, I got most of my homework done for the week last night.
After 2 or 3 hours on Monday and Tuesday, and 2 last night, I'm almost done for the week.
egads.
So, the rest of this weeks work is to right a paper proposal.
The assignment to so select a online community, and write a paper on how it works or does not work like a real world community. It can not be to big (e-bay, mmos, and such are out).
But it must have an average of 10 posts a day.
So that kills the Warmachine forums I moderate.
So, it looks like
The Cape Radio is the group I am going to follow.
It's an Internet Radio Station that is based on the City of Heroes/Villains game.
Basically, they broadcast in game, and from the hub of an RP Community.
You can stream it with Winamp, and they have a schedule, live DJ's, host events, and have a message board.
So, they are a mix of real-world and net communities.
They have several posts a day, have cliques, and everything else you would expect in a "real" community.
Sounds like a good paper with lots of hooks to me.
In other news, I'm happy to say I've been making daily posts in my log.
They make for a dreadfully boring read, perhaps they will help me figure this thing out better.
