Procrastination

My university essays is not getting done.

I am trying... ish. It's just I can't face spending another day sitting down searching for articles on Jstor for an essay about everyday forms of resistance. It's due in on Wednesday. It's quite a nice topic though, the theory is based on the idea that no matter how oppressed a group or individual may be in life, they always have some form of power. Through a little individual action every day big changes can happen over time. Very inspiring, certainly less depressing than the normal Development Studies stuff such as how poverty is getting worse and how 800,000 million people are currently starving in the world.

It's not like I am completely wasting my time though, I have learnt how to swear in Japanese and say I love you in 10 different languages.

I am feeling really random but I guess you figured that out already.

Here are some more random things I have learnt through uni:

*The population in China is so big that in order to take a population census they have to train 7 million people to do it!
*India is the country with the highest number of people with HIV/AIDS.
*There are over 1000 languages in South Asia.

Other random fun - credit to Amy - contrary to popular belief a duck's quack really does echo! This article makes quite an interesting read, and the photo of a duck in a santa hat in front of a microphone really made my day too.

xXx
