(no subject)

it's occurred to me that if anything major should happen in the world, ever, i would not know until i eventually log on to our dialup internet and check out nytimes.com. i don't watch cable news networks and i no longer work in a newsroom. that is weird.

i'm going to be very excited to collapse at the end of today. i got up around 7, god knows why, and then i ate breakfast, had paperwork morning at starbucks, went for thai with my mom, went to the ups store, blockbuster, olive garden and the weis store, came home, called lynn about the exhibit opening, got her to send me info, printed out and read the info, came up with a ton of questions for her, and am to call her in 45 min to interview her about the feminist art movement applies to her new exhibit and to her work in general, and what she thinks about it all. then i'm going to collapse and watch either merchant of venice or elf, because they are very similar.

tomorrow is my olive garden interview and my brother comes home, and wednesday i'm going to see enchanted for review, because no country for old men isn't getting here yet, and thursday is thanksgiving and my column runs, and friday is decorating our entire house for christmas and also dana's wedding, and saturday is saturday, and sunday is starbucks again (they are letting me skip the holiday).

i am crazy busy and i kind of love it. the only thing that makes me sad is how long it's going to take me to get paid (2 weeks from friday!) and the fact that i still have not seen 'american gangster'. that, and i don't have more writing gigs. i don't know why i miss it so, but i do.

and oh did i mention it snowed today? the snow's weight on the leaves of our birch tree caused two enormous branches to break off from the tree almost entirely, and crash into our backyard. apparently an inch or two of snow can be quite backbreaking. ;o) if i was 10 it would be the fantasy setting for some inevitable adventure game i would cook up with my neighbors. now ... it's just kind of pretty.
