x3

so i watched x-men 3 today. maybe i had low expectations or something (since i looked up the ratings on rottentomatoes.com before going), but i thought it was great. the flaws are apparent, of course. i hated storm (but i hate her in every movie because i think halle berry does a terrible job and because they don't utilize her powers nearly as often as they should, logically) and all the other new mutants except for the beast. unlike x2, x3 focused on the original cast, whereas i think in x2, the other characters such as stryker and nightcrawler were well-developed and actually left an impact. and as a movie, it wasn't nearly as good as x2 (i forgot everything about x1...heh). the action sequences (or more specifically, the one-on-one battles) were also not exciting at all compared to its predecessors. actually, the driving plot was pretty bad as it was clearly manufactured as such in order to have certain events/scenes be realized. but the heart of the movie was definitely those said events/scenes. i was seriously wrenched. and i LOVED the ending. it was EXACTLY how i wanted it to end but i didn't think it would end that way, which was why when it did i was all the more impressed. and lastly, magneto hella rocked. everything about the guy plus the three second scene at the very very very end was, for me, worth the nine bucks.

and the preview for the new superman looks soooo gooooood. i liked how 90% of it showcased kevin spacey. but hey, i'm not complaining.
