things i loved in 2009
2009 was hectic with work and study and more work and then more study. To make up for the lack of posts I have decided to do a little picspam of some of the things I loved in 2009... and also because you need another distraction when you are supposed to be working on an assignment...
The Wire
Definitely in my top 3 tv shows of all time (don't make me choose!) I watched the whole thing on dvd at the start of the year. It was amazing, I can't do it justice in a couple of lines. Believe the hype, if you haven't watched it - what are you waiting for?!
Curb Your Enthusiasm
I can't get enough of this show, it kills me. Larry David is a genius. We quote this show constantly, it has added so many words to my vernacular. What can I say? It's pretty... pretty... pretty good!
True Blood
Now I have only seen season 1 so far, but it was great, very entertaining. I love dark humour and the characters are am intriguing bunch. Also Sookie is a great name and her perfect ponytail fascinates me.
Californication
Another great season of Californication. The season finale was epic - I cried twice and this rarely happens to me with tv shows. Of course I'm now anxious about what season 4 will hold. I'm hoping it's going to be darker, more like the first season.
Up
It's on practically everyone's list for this year. How could it not be? Visually stunning, sweet and also very touching in places.
The Wrestler
I saw this at the cinema in January. Best film I saw all year. An amazing performance from Mickey Rourke, I would have loved to have seen him get the Oscar for it. The father/daughter scenes were really touching.
Public Enemies
Now I know I'm in the minority, but I thought this was excellent. Gorgeous soundtrack too.
Watchmen
I went into this with no prior knowledge, no expectations and I absolutely loved it. Gorgeous!
New York City
My personal highlight of 2009 was my trip to NYC. I have wanted to visit for as long as I can remember. We went in November and had the best time. It was everything I expected and more, so much more! I can't wait to go back, there is so much more I want to see and do there. It felt like we only caught a glimpse!
Hope 2010 is a fantastic year for all!
