The Patriot Act (a.k.a Bill C-36). I want you to think about this. I also want you to think about it if you're going to uni and pursuing a degree in sociology.
I hear it's discussed.. or.. at least annoyingly created such a monstrous media frenzy (that.. it got my attention :p) in the film, Farenheit 9... blah blah blah.
It premiered in Washington today, I wanna see it. ^^
Now, so, the reason why you should be interested is 'coz I know there are lefties here in LJ..and among them are friends (::points::). Yes, anarchists are included in this category.
Anyway, this bill has already been passed in Canadian Parliament. Some of the major ..disadvantages (to be a little subtle) would be Guilt by Association.
You know, they practice this in North Korea...
And apparently our government is much more advanced.
This Bill has been set in motion, and demonstrated (although more "subtle").
Yeah, so you guys missed the forum in the U of W regarding this (the keynote speaker was a famed Professor, who alse teaches in that building ^^), it wasn't a very large group, so I know you weren't there...
