Cassidy & The Laughing Gas

Sep 15, 2006 20:07

So, today was my wisdom teeth surgery.
Got there at 8:45, my mom had to sign & initial a few forms, then off to the room I went.
My surgen's assistant put the mask on my face, and told me that it was laughing gas. About 5 minutes later, I was gone. My face felt tingly, and I had the urge to start smirking.
The radio was on, and then a commercial about NYS came on, and said the state bird, flower, ect; And my surgen goes "did you know that?" and I started laughing. He said "Oooh great, we got a laugher." And I was like "Nooo, I'm fine, it was just funny. And I did" And he said "Really?" and I started laughing some more. I then replied "I heard this on the ride here earlier."
Then they put the IV in, which I think they should've done on my right arm, because it's hard to find my veins on my left arm (I know this since I'm a donor) so they poked my arm, and put it in. My arm is now really bruised and bumpy.
Well, they poked me and said my name to get me to wake up, and they told me they were going to get my mom and to stay where I was.
Well, my mom told me that when she got in there, I was bobbing around to the music and sitting cross legged to the chair. The nurse had to help me put my flip flops back on, because I managed to kick them off during the procedure.
My mom had to help me to the car, and I was still feeling extremley nuts, and couldn't stop laughing.
I kept saying I looked like a chipmonk, and laughed whenever I would speak, because I sounded so funny.
Stopped at Tops, my mom went in, and got my Vicatin and the other perscription, along with some food for my dad's. She took me to my dad's so someone could watch me, and so I wouldn't be able to drive, since I'm not allowed to drive until tomorrow morning.
I slept a lot, and have to was my pillowcases there, since I was bleeding for a bit during my naps.
My uncle also brought me a milkshake and brought it to me before my dad left for work.

My right side is still puffy, because the nurse said they had to use a drill on that side, to get the bone out.
I don't feel as bad as I thought I would, I really thought it would hurt a lot more. But, they said I was one of the easiest cases they had, since the only had to cut out 3.
I go back on Friday to get the stitches out.

Tomorrow I'm not allowed to ice my face anymore, since it'll make it worse.
But, I'm going to work at night at the bowling alley. I'm not allowed to bowl in the morning,
And my pictures came in, so I'm going to get them in the morning.
I'll be allowed to drive then.

That's about it.
