what "president" bush forgot to add is, as long as you're straight. because apparently only straight people can love other people and create a safe and loving home. which is why he's declared next week "National Marriage Protection Week". AKA anti-gay week. the fun thing about all this? next week is marriage-equality week, in which gay couples and non couples from all around the country are going to try to legalize same-sex marriage. The funny thing about all this?? the week of anti-homosexuality begins on the anniversary of the death of one Matthew Shepard, who was killed because he was gay. No other reason. Just because he happened to have been born gay. Seems to me like there aren't all that many gay people going around murdering people... just straight folk. I mean, how can the president assume that all male/female marriage homes are "safe and loving"....when it's crackheads like Fred Phelps who come from them. That's right, Fred Phelps. basically he's trying to put up a monument that says that it was RIGHT to kill matthew shepard. that it was RIGHT to take someone down in the prime of his life because of something that he had NO CONTROL OVER! scientific proof exists to suggest that sexuality is chemical and something no one has any control over. so since fred phelps obviously does not believe in anything except creationism and jesus, he apparently has not READ this research. he hasn' even read the bible apparently because the first big thing in the bible is to love one another. over and over again in the bible there are various, countless even, instances where jesus says, "love one another as I have loved you. that is the greatest and first commandment". LOVE ONE ANOTHER. why did fred phelps choose to quote leviticus and not read the psalms, the gospels, the books of john, and mark, and the acts of those who first knew jesus. this is, or course, provided he can read at all. i'm not even religious, but if you can turn the bible toward anti-homosexuality, it's pretty easy to turn it to anti-hatred. either way the outrage is that he wants to turn the focus of that HEINOUS HORRIBLE DESPICABLE HEART-WRENCHING MURDER from the pigs who committed it, and say that it was matthew shepard's fault for being gay.
Stand up, America. Life shouldn't be like this. There shouldn't be outrages like this. I am speechless. Well no, clearly I'm not speechless but I am in shock. I cannot fathom that something could be that ignorant and I can't even call this thing names because "man" is too much praise, and swear-words don't cut it. this outrage is beyond words. i wish you could see me right now, as I am shaking and crying. let me clarify, i am shaking because I am crying. this is beyond an outrage. this is a call to stand up.
love one another. for the sake of humanity. all we have left is to love each other because clearly humankind is going down the tubes with phelps and george w bush leading the way. hug someone. tell them you love them whether they're male, female, i don't care. don't let one moron dictate the motions of an entire nation and stand up next week, support people who are working for the right to marry whomever they choose. love is all we have left.
