I see that none of you can understand my translit writing ( as I see no comments ), so during my stay here in UK I decided to write my posts in English. I'd like to put here a story that I wrote for Vacuum mailing list about Vacuum visit to St. Petersburg. The story is in English, so that Vacuum fans all over the world could enjoy it. And some of them already have written me their thanks. So here comes the story:): At 12.30 Vacuum arrived at Pulkovo-1 from Moscow. At the airport there were a lot of people present, a huge crowd of fans of different Russian artists, who also arrived to sing in Ice Palace at radio Sputnik anniversary. Some of them
recognized Mattias, they told the others and so everyone began to take photos of
him. Mattias signed everything he was asked to and then began walking around the
airport talking Swdish with his musicians. And all the crowd was running after
him. That looked really funny. I was the only one to speak to him, all the other
people just stood around, staring at us ( they didn't know English ). Mattias
told me about the concert in Moscow and Star Factory. He regretted that the
prices in Moscow were so high that not all of his fans could visit the concert.
He also told that he wanted to stay in Europe hotel again, but all the rooms
vere occupied and so he stayed in another one. Someone has presented him a
pineapple, with which he was walking around :) One time he made a move to go
and everybody got ready to follow him, Mattias said : "I'm going to the toilet
". That was the word everyone understood and laughed :) Mattias now has become
much thinner than he used to be a few years ago. He also looks much more serious
now. Vacuum left the airport in a little red-coloured bus.
At the concert that took place in Ice Palace ( and that many Vacuum fans have
missed ) I was standing like in the 3d raw when Vacuum appeared on stage.
Mattias was dressed in white T-shirt, black trousers and dark striped jacket. I
could say that I really like his earlier outfit much more than that. He sang the
songs: Starting, Let The Mountain Come To Me, Power and, of course, I Breathe.
During the performance Mattias often asked the people, if they were there,
because most of them were rather quiet. And when he asked the crowd to sing
along with him, the girls near the scene tried to sing, but they sang wrong
words! Some girls beforethat told me that they were Vacuum fans :) I told them
that they are singing not the right words and tried to sing as loud as I could,
so that Mattias hear that there are his fans in St. Petersburg :) Other than
that, the performance was excellent, Vacuum sang live as they usually do.
In Plaza club I met almost all Vacuum fans I knew and besides ex-Vacuum fans, I
also got acquainted to some new fans of Vacuum music . Everyone was very excited
about the concert that was to follow. We moved closer to the scene to see
better. Finally Vacuum came out to the scene. There were no specal effects and
everything was done in a usual Vacuum minimalistic style. Mattias was dressed
the same during the performance in Ice Palace, he was constantly pulling up his
trousers. That looked really funny along with the serious expression on his face
and the lyrics of the songs :) As he said, he has forgotten his belt in the
hotel. The choice of the songs was not so good as at the Moscow concert, all
fans wanted to hear their favourite old songs by Vacuum, but they mostly
performed the new material. And even the old songs were performed in a new
acoustic style, when Vacuum was famous in Russia as synth band, but anyway the
concert was wonderful and we all were glad to see Mattias again and to listen to
Vacuum music live. Mattias now is playing with guest musicians, as he told me,
which are a guitarist and a keyboard player. They were rather good, though
Mattias told me that they are not part of Vacuum and Vacuum now is he and only
he. During the concert Mattias shook hands to his fans and he even asked us,
would we like him to sing one more song or the two of them. Of course we
answered two.:) Some fans presented him flowers as a sign of their love for
Vacuum.
